The School of Polymer Science and Engineering offers degree programs leading to the Bachelor of Science in Polymer Science as well as the Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Polymer Science and Engineering. Students in all of our degree programs receive valuable education and training that prepares them for careers in academic, government, or industrial settings. Approximately half of our B.S. graduates choose to further their education in graduate or professional schools, while the remainder benefit from a 95% job placement rate of our graduates within the field.
The School currently consists of 11 tenured and tenure track faculty members, one teaching faculty member, one research faculty member, and numerous support staff for administration and research. All faculty are actively engaged in teaching, research, and service activities. Mission
The mission of the School of Polymer Science and Engineering is:
- To develop the next generation of polymer scientists and engineers with the technical and professional skills to address the grand challenges of the 21st century.
- To be at the forefront of polymer science and engineering research, with high impact publications & patents, external funding, corporate partnerships, recognition by the profession, and performance of our graduates.
