DuBard School Recognizes Community Members at Speakeasy Event

The DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of 麻豆传媒 (麻豆传媒) presented awards to members of the community who have helped the organization throughout the years at the recent DuBard Speakeasy event.

鈥淎 special part of the Speakeasy each year is recognizing individuals in the community who have shown tremendous support of the DuBard School and its students,鈥 said Dr. Missy Schraeder, DuBard School Director. 鈥淚t is because of volunteers and community support that the DuBard School continues to thrive.鈥

Three awards were presented at the DuBard School Speakeasy this year: DuBard School University Friend, Community Friend, and Award of Distinction. The recipients were as follows:

Dr. Lachel StoryDuBard School University Friend 鈥 Dr. Lachel Story, Dean of College of Nursing & Health Professions

Dr. Story has been an advocate for DuBard School for Language Disorders. She has gone above and beyond and has been actively engaged in DuBard School鈥檚 administration finances, government relations and mission.

 

Rep. Missy McGeeDuBard School Community Friend 鈥 The Honorable Missy McGee, MS State Representative.

Rep. McGee has been a staunch supporter of DuBard School and special education services with the Mississippi Legislature. She has and continues to advocate in the MS House of Representatives and is consistently proactive in communicating with and for DuBard School.

 

 

Ed LangtonDuBard School Award of Distinction- Mr. Edward 鈥淓d鈥 Langton

Since joining the DuBard School family in the early 1990鈥檚, Mr. Langton was integral in the formation of the DuBard School鈥檚 Advisory Board, Finance & Development Committee, and Government Relations Committee. Over the last 30+ years, he has been and continues to be completely selfless in sharing his time, guidance, wisdom, and resources in championing the DuBard School. His dedication to the success of the DuBard School and The University of 麻豆传媒 has been invaluable.


About the DuBard School for Language Disorders

The DuBard School for Language Disorders was established in 1962 and is a clinical division of the Southern Miss School of Speech and Hearing Sciences. DuBard School serves children with severe language/speech disorders, including the written language disorder of dyslexia, and/or hearing impairments and provides guidance and counseling for parents and families of the children. The school is a practicum site for university students majoring in speech-language pathology, audiology, and dyslexia therapy. DuBard School for Language Disorders is a United Way agency.
