The Lake Thoreau Environmental Center is Â鶹´«Ã½'s nature center and is located just a few miles west of campus. Our mission at Lake Thoreau Environmental Center is dual-purposed. First, we strive to provide an environment that inspires people of all ages to explore their connections with the natural world. Second, we provide a model for protection and stewardship of longleaf pine forests.
Recreational opportunities include fishing (weekends only), mountain biking, hiking, and birding. Come out and enjoy the natural beauty of south Mississippi!
