A Message From the School Director
The ability to use computing to solve problems and synthesize data into information are skillsets useful in most vocations. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 12% growth in computing occupations from 2018 to 2028, faster than the average for all other occupations. The School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering is committed to broadening participation in computing and developing the technical leaders of tomorrow.
In the School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering, we offer multiple computing majors including cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, and information technology, and bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programs. Our Bachelor of Science programs in computer science, computer engineering, and information technology are ABET accredited. The skillsets of our graduates have led them to employment pathways that include Apple, Amazon, Nissan, NASA, Raytheon, Howard Industries, Cisco, Lockheed Martin.
Our faculty work with undergraduate and graduate students to develop the next generation of innovative researchers, and many graduates are furthering their education at Â鶹´«Ã½ or other institutions across the country.
Whether you are a prospective student, a parent, an alum, or you represent a company, non-profit, or government entity, I invite you to help us make a difference in the growth of an innovative and computationally skilled workforce. You can contact us at 601.266.4949 or computingFREEMississippi.
