Â鶹´«Ã½ Honors College Students Participate at Mississippi Honors Conference

University of Â鶹´«Ã½ (Â鶹´«Ã½) Honors College students took part in the Mississippi Honors Conference in Starkville in February, earning recognition during the event’s competition for their research activity.
Participating students and categories of competition include the following:
*Best Oral Presentation in Social Science (Four Year Institution)
1st place - Allison Hanby, a child and family sciences major from Tupelo, Miss.
*2nd place - Patrick Tyson, an anthropology, world literatures, and sociology triple-major from Hazlehurst, Miss.
*Best Oral Presentation for STEM field (Four Year Institution)
1st place - Landon Lee, a chemistry major from Hattiesburg, Miss.
*Best Poster for STEM field (Four Year Institution)
1st place - Aiden Leise, a chemistry major (ACS Certified Chem) from Lake Cormorant, Miss.
*Poster Participant for STEM field (Four Year Institution)
Karina Ledezma, a marine science major from Biloxi, Miss.
With its roots in the first honors courses offered at the University in the mid-1960s, the Â鶹´«Ã½ Honors College has, since its establishment in 1976 as the state’s first Honors College, been home to aspiring scholars who strive for excellence, thrive on academic challenge, and serve and lead both on campus and in the community.
