Internship and Training Opportunities
The Army ROTC nursing program not only provides you with the classroom training that you need to be successful, but also provides numerous real world opportunities to work alongside some of the largest and most advanced hospitals in the Army inventory. Some of the places where you will have the opportunity to train and gain experience can be found at:

The Army Nurse Corps
The Army Nurse Corps recognizes that earning your BSN is an achievement to be proud of and is committed to providing educational opportunities. Once you become an Army Nurse, you may apply for specialty courses such as:
- Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- Preoperative Nursing
- Obstetrical and Gynecological Nursing
- Critical Care Nursing
Your ROTC Commitment
As a winner of a nursing scholarship, you're required to take an ROTC class, which demands a few hours of your time each week. Upon graduation, you have an obligation to accept a commission and serve full-time in the Active Army, or part-time in either the Army National Guard or the U.S. Army Reserve for at least 4 years. After the 鈥渙bligation鈥 phase, you may choose to stay on active duty or leave active service. If you decide to leave active service you will have additional obligations.
When to Apply
The application due date is at the beginning of senior year for high school students pursuing a career in nursing. College students may apply any time.
