Bio
Katya Maslakowski joined the faculty of Â鶹´«Ã½ in 2023, and is a faculty fellow in the Dale Center for the Study of War and Society. She is a specialist in the history of modern Britain and the British Empire, with a focus on the history of science and military history. Her current work investigates the violence and failures of British counterinsurgencies during the twentieth century with particular attention to how cultural practices impact the development of British military tactics. She had written and researched on the British Empire and its technologies of violence in Ireland, Mandate Palestine, Malaya, Kenya, Cyprus, and Aden as well as covering the conflicts in Northern Ireland.
