Bio
Joseph E. Jones (Ph.D., Illinois) is Associate Professor of Music History at The University of Â鶹´«Ã½. He previously held appointments at Texas A&M University-Kingsville and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
His research focuses on the late German romantic tradition, especially the operas of Richard Strauss and Hugo von Hofmannsthal. Broader interests include Viennese cultural history, sketch studies, and the fin de siècle. He has co-edited two books, Richard Strauss in Context and Genetic Criticism and the Creative Process along with published articles on Wagner, Strauss, Mahler, and video game music.
Dr. Jones has presented papers at dozens of conferences, including meetings of the American Musicological Society and College Music Society.
