Q:I am being hired as a staff/faculty member. Can I start tomorrow?
A:No. It takes a minimum of five days for an employee’s background check to come back. You cannot begin working until it has been completed.
Q:Who should I be expecting an email from?
A:Â鶹´«Ã½ contracts with a third party vendor to complete all of our background checks. You will be receiving an email from RedTail Security Screening.
Q:Do I have to complete a background check?
A:Yes, unless you are a student employee, you must complete a background check through the HR office.
Q:I already completed a background check with the state. Do I have to complete another one?
A:Yes. Anyone who is being hired at Â鶹´«Ã½ must complete a background check through the HR office.
Q:I have already completed a background check with Â鶹´«Ã½. Do I need to complete another one?
A:Only if you have been separated from the university for 30 or more days.
Q:I am a student worker and will be working with minors. Do I need to complete a background check?
A:Yes. If you are going to be working with minors, you must complete a background check through the HR office.
Q:I am an incoming Graduate Assistant. Do I need to complete a background check?
A:Yes. All Graduate Assistants must complete a background check prior to working at Â鶹´«Ã½.
Q:My name was entered in RedTail incorrectly and I cannot change it.
