Join us Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm in the Trent Lott National Center on the Hattiesburg campus for Meet the Firms, hosted by the Â鶹´«Ã½ School of Accountancy.
The School of Accountancy’s Meet the Firms night is a career fair held at the beginning of the fall semester, specifically for accounting students. The event provides an opportunity for students to learn more about careers and opportunities within the accounting field, as well as network with representatives from accounting firms, companies, and other professional organizations in order to develop future contacts and employment prospects. The event also provides recruiting firms a chance to meet and connect with potential candidates from Â鶹´«Ã½ to fill positions within their organizations for full-time and internship positions. All accounting students and alumni are encouraged to participate, regardless of graduation date.
- You must be an accounting major to register and participate in this event.
- You must log into your Handshake profile, add your resume, and then register for the event. Students should not submit résumés without meeting with Career Services first! Please contact Amy Yeend, the College of Business and Economic Development Assistant Dean for Professional Development and Career Services, to schedule a résumé critique appointment by calling 601.266.4663 or by emailing businesscareersFREEMississippi.
- Log into your Handshake profile at . If you have never logged into your profile you will need to verify, by your usm.edu email, to gain access.
- Click on your name/picture in the top right corner of the page
- Click the blue Add New Document button in the top right corner
- Enter a name for the document and be sure Resume is selected under Document Type
- Click Select from Computer to choose your file (your resume should be saved as a PDF and limited to one page)
- Click Add Document
- To register for Meet the Firms in Handshake, Click Events at the top of the page
- Click 2025 Meet the Firms on the list then click the blue Register button
- Answer the question about your graduation date then click the green Finish button

If students would like to have their resumes critiqued before Meet the Firms, they must email a copy to BusinessCareersFREEMississippi. The deadline to do so as well as the dates for resume workshops will be announced soon.
